Caglar Ozturk

  • Postdoctoral Fellow

BS Mechatronic Engineering, Bahcesehir University; MS Biomedical Engineering, Cleveland State University; PhD Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, Koc University

Caglar received his bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering from Bahcesehir University, Turkey where he was awarded outstanding success scholarship. He received his master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Cleveland State University, where he developed his interest in medical device design and biomechanics research. Throughout his studies, he conducted his research in Spine Research Lab at Cleveland Clinic hospital.  There, his research study was about MRI based numerical investigation of sports-related hits that may cause head concussion or mild traumatic brain injury. He received his PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering at Koc University, Turkey. During his doctoral work, he developed a novel centrifugal left ventricular assist device for the treatment of patients with advanced heart failure. He gained research experience in finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, medical device manufacturing, and experimental testing. He has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Fellowship and joined TTDD as a postdoctoral researcher with the goal of translating computational and experimental cardiac models into efficient clinical prediction tools. His research interests include computational and experimental modeling of the cardiovascular system, translational healthcare technology, and surgical design/prediction methods.
