- Visiting Student
B.S, M.S, Biomedical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano
Elena Bosoni received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in July 2019, specializing in the analysis of vascular conduit compliance measurement systems. In April 2022, she earned her M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. For her master's thesis, she developed a 3D-printed, patient-specific thoracic simulator to train clinicians in implanting a novel right ventricle remodeling device for treating functional tricuspid regurgitation. Through this project, she gained extensive experience with CAD modeling software, fluid dynamics simulations, 3D printing, and silicone casting technologies. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano under the supervision of Prof. Riccardo Vismara and Prof. Gianfranco Beniamino Fiore. Her research focuses on designing and developing a cardiac simulator actuated by soft robotic technology, aimed at enhancing clinician training and facilitating medical device testing for minimally invasive cardiac treatments and transcatheter procedures, particularly for atrioventricular valve interventions. As part of her Ph.D., Elena is joining the TTDD lab as a Visiting Student to deepen her expertise in soft robotics and optimize the integration and validation of her test bed simulator, ensuring its effectiveness in both clinical training and device assessment. Outside the lab, Elena enjoys sports and music.
