Emmanuel received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Life Sciences Engineering from EPFL and is enrolled in the bioengineering-to-medicine program to obtain his MD degree from the University of Geneva. Interested in translational research projects, he worked on on-demand blood platelet manufacturing from a hematopoietic stem cell line. His master's thesis at Harvard Medical School focused on leveraging tough adhesive hydrogels loaded with anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic small molecules to improve wound healing. As a research associate in the TTDD lab, he works on instrumenting a smart robotic sleeve for modeling aortic stenosis and left ventricular pressure overload, and on a medical device for hydrocephalus treatment aimed at a less invasive surgical procedure.
