B.Eng Biomedical Engineering, National University of Ireland, Galway
Niamh received her B.Eng in Biomedical Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2020. She is now a PhD Candidate in Biomedical Engineering at NUI Galway under supervision of Dr. Eimear Dolan. Her research focuses on the use of soft robotic technologies to improve the performance of drug and cell therapy delivery devices for diseases such as Type 1 Diabetes. Her broader research interests lie at the intersection of engineering and biomedical science, in particular in the design and development of novel implantable devices to treat chronic health conditions. Niamh is also passionate about diversity in STEM and promoting access to education, and she is the current vice-chairperson of the NUI Galway Women in STEM society (2021 - 2023). She also enjoys travelling, reading, and cooking (and eating) good food!
