B.Sc, M.Sc, Mechanical Engineering, ETH Zurich;

Ph.D, Biomedical Engineering, Medical University of Vienna

Andreas holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich. Formerly a research associate at Charité - University Medicine Berlin, he completed his Ph.D. at the Medical University of Vienna. During his doctoral research, he focused on improving preclinical testing of mechanical circulatory support systems, contributing to the design of innovative devices for unmet medical needs. Notably, he played a key role in developing a cavopulmonary assist device for univentricular patients with a failing Fontan circulation. Initially joining the TTDD lab as a Visiting Student during his Ph.D., Andreas later returned as a postdoctoral fellow. In this role, he employs a combination of computational and experimental methods to enhance understanding of Fontan physiology.
