Will received a Masters in Pharmacy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, before before pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering between Harvard University and Trinity College Dublin under the supervision of Prof David Mooney, Prof Conor Walsh, and Prof Garry Duffy. In his research, he combines clinical experience with biomedical design in order to develop translational technologies that can impact patient care. His Doctoral studies focused on the design of biomaterial cell and drug delivery reservoirs for cardiac tissue regeneration post myocardial infarction. Since joining the TTDD lab, he has explored the use of soft robotic technologies to modulate drug release and alter the immune response to implantable biomedical devices. Outside the lab, Will loves to cook, run, and travel. He is also an active member of the Cambridge entrepreneurial community.
